Child protection (a total of 20 families, 80 people / 50 children)

Temporary Home for Families: The aim of this professional activity in the institution is to provide an opportunity for families with temporary housing problems to be able to protect their family unity and to support the family in maintaining or restoring their independent living by means of social work. Our institution is open for disadvantaged families, single parents, pregnant and / or abused mothers from all over the country.

Our goal is to strengthen the resources of the families entering the institution to such an extent that after the expiration of the term included in the institutional agreement, they can thrive independently or with minimal help, outside the institutional framework. In the course of our professional work, we pay special attention to help returning those of the family members to the labour market who are still active by their age, the ones who earn the income. Also, we would like to pay special attention to help them to avoid hospitalization and leave the child protection system as soon as possible.

As a residential child welfare institution, the organization of leisure and other activities to help our children to develop and broaden their horizons, is being considered as a priority by us. The institution’s professional caregivers and volunteers normally hold sessions for children on weekday afternoons, tailoring assignments to their age and interests. In addition to these, we await and receive children from school and kindergarten with craft and sports activities. The staff of our institution organizes on a regular basis free excursions and museum visits for children in order to disconnect them for a while.

In addition to the institutionalized work performed at the headquarters, we try to complement our activities with as many project-like solutions as possible, so that we can provide the most up-to-date and effective answers to the problems we perceive. Within the framework of our workshop activities operating at the headquarters, we would like to give a nurturing community experience to young people living in orphanages and help them to spend their time meaningfully. For an easier access, we also operate two charity shops in the city centre, and with the support of our volunteer program, we would like to get in contact with as many enthusiastic and selfless helpers as possible to join our mission.
